  • Strengthen survey / census management
  • Conduct surveys on socio-economic, demographic and environmental issues besides population, agriculture, fisheries and livestock and economic census.
  • Collecting, processing, analyzing and publishing information on national accounts and various indicators as well as domestic and international trade.
  • Determining the timely demand of the country's statistics by international standards, collecting and processing data using modern technology.
  • Establish and maintain the National Statistics Data Bank and provide statistics as per the needs of the users.
  • Establish standardized statistics by coordinating, collaborating and providing guidance to various government and non-government organizations.
  • BBS has started the work of building a Khana-based database by collecting socio-economic and demographic information of Khana and Khana members through interviews from all the Khanas (about 3.5 crore) in the country. In this database, a score indicating the socio-economic status of each cell will be given. This database will be very helpful in selecting the beneficiaries of about 100 social security programs in the country. The database will be used to deliver other services to the doorsteps of the people quickly and accurately.
  • Business Register has already been prepared to create a fully centralized database with some important basic information of every permanent business in the country. It will be used as the main framework for the formulation of economic statistics of the country. The business register will contain information on the name, address, legal structure, type of functions, number of manpower employed, annual average production, total assets, etc. of each organization.
